What we will be covering in the course sessions?
The course is usually spread over eight weeks, up to 90 minutes a session, with home practice in-between.
We learn to practice mindful awareness in different ways, whilst sitting and walking, whilst at home and at work. The course is mainly practical, learning how to be mindful through the practice of doing it.
There is also input on how the mind works, drawing on current research. This covers topics such as the two modes of mind, the impact of thoughts and feelings on our emotional state, how the mind/body responds to stress, and the benefits of positive emotional states.
